AeroPress Pro Coffee Press
Pros
- Truly leak-proof chamber; it survived a full backpack in testing
- Consistent 18-bar extraction across a range of grind settings
- Brews in under 30 seconds, so it works on a commute
- Dishwasher safe and the parts are all individually replaceable
Cons
- Paper filters are still a recurring cost and cannot be washed
- Hot water above about 92C pulls bitter notes, which needs learning
- Less forgiving than a French press when you rush the brew
Six weeks of daily testing
We used the AeroPress Pro every morning for six weeks, alternating between a light Ethiopian single origin and a dark roast blend, and we took it on four trips to see whether the leak-proof claim held up outside a kitchen. It did, every time.
The original AeroPress was already a cult favourite, but the Pro fixes the two complaints that kept people away: cups that dripped into a bag, and a chamber that was too narrow to clean properly. Both of those are gone.
Extraction is consistent, not forgiving
At the recommended 18-bar pressure the Pro pulls a remarkably even shot. Push past that and it gets bitter fast, which is a different failure mode from most brewers here. The learning curve is short: the sweet spot is real and you find it within a week.
Our one standing complaint is water temperature. The press has no thermometer, and above roughly 92C the cup turns sharp. If your kettle does not let you measure, this is the thing to buy alongside it.
The parts you will replace
Nothing here is glued together. The chamber, plunger, cap, and filter cap all come apart and go back together without tools. That is unusual at this price and it is why we expect this to outlast several cheaper competitors.
The filters are the exception. They are consumable, they are not washable, and a 350-pack runs out faster than you would think if you are brewing two cups a day.
Who should buy this
Buy it if you want one compact brewer that handles both filter and immersion-style coffee, travel without leaking, and can be repaired rather than replaced. It is a genuinely small object for what it does.
Skip it if you drink litres of coffee per day, or if you want a machine that holds milk and froths. This is a single-cup brewer and it is unapologetic about that.

User Experiences
Took it on two cross-country flights in a side pocket. Zero leaks, and the travel mug fits under the seat. The only thing I would change is adding a silicone sleeve, the bare metal gets cold.
Great value and it cleaned up beautifully. I burned my tongue for the first week because I did not know about the temperature thing the review warns about. Now it is my daily driver.
Replaced a much more expensive machine with this and have not looked back. I run a small cafe and we use four of them on the bar. They get dropped constantly and keep working.
